We do not collect any data.

This policy covers every app published by Simplify my app — Gallery, Player, Recorder, Files, Launcher and Browser — and this website. It is short because there is almost nothing to describe.

In one paragraph

The apps do not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal, sensitive or device data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. Everything you open, record or move stays on your device. The apps are provided free of charge, as is, and you use them for your own purposes.

Data we collect

None. We collect no personal data, no sensitive user data and no device data. No name, no email, no phone number, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifier, no device identifier, no installed-app list, no usage or diagnostic data. The apps have no user accounts and no server of our own to send anything to.

Data we share

None. Since nothing is collected, nothing is shared, sold or transferred to any third party, and there are no third-party SDKs for advertising, attribution or analytics inside the apps.

Your content stays on your device

Photos, videos, music, recordings and files are read and written on your device only. Nothing is uploaded, backed up or copied anywhere by us. Settings are saved locally and are removed when you uninstall the app. Gallery does not request the internet permission at all, so it is technically unable to send anything anywhere.

Permissions, and why

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / VIDEOTo show the photos and videos already on your phone. They are read for display only.

ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATIONLets the details panel read a photo's own EXIF. Location is never stored by us and never transmitted.

READ_MEDIA_AUDIOPlayer only. To list and play the music already on your phone. A file is changed only when you edit its tags or delete it, and Android asks you to confirm each time.

RECORD_AUDIORecorder only. Audio is written to a file on your device and stays there.

Storage accessFiles only. Needed to list, copy, move, rename and delete the files you choose to act on.

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGESLauncher only. A home screen has to list every installed app to show it. The list stays on the phone.

Notification accessLauncher only, and only if you turn on badges. It counts notifications per app to draw a dot; their content is not read or kept.

Accessibility serviceLauncher only, and only if you enable it. Used to open the notification shade, quick settings or recent apps, and to lock the screen, from a gesture. It reads nothing on screen.

READ_CONTACTSLauncher only, and only if you turn on contact search. Contacts are searched on the phone and never leave it.

INTERNET — Launcher weatherLauncher only, and off by default. With weather on, it sends the coordinates of the city you picked to Open-Meteo for a forecast, at most once every two hours. No account, no key, no identifier.

INTERNET — BrowserBrowser only. It loads the pages you open, sends what you type in the address bar to the search engine you chose, and talks to addons.mozilla.org to search, install and update extensions. Nothing about you is sent to us.

CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO, LOCATION — BrowserBrowser only, and only when a site you opened asks and you allow it. The permission is passed to that site for that page; we receive nothing.

INTERNET — Player cover searchPlayer only, and only when you edit a track's tags and press Search under Search online. The search text, artist and album unless you change it, goes to Apple's iTunes Search API, and the covers it finds are downloaded to show you. Like any web request, Apple sees your IP address. Nothing else is sent, and nothing at all reaches us.

INTERNET — not requestedGallery ships without it. You can verify this in the app's permission list on Google Play.

No ads, no purchases

The apps contain no advertising and no ad networks, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. There is no paid tier, so there is no payment data either.

Children

The apps are safe for any age in the sense that matters here: they collect nothing from anyone, children included.

This website

No cookies are set, no analytics run and no visitor profile is built. Your theme choice is kept in your own browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. If you write to us, we see only what you put in the message.

Provided as is

The apps are free and provided as is, without warranty of any kind. You choose what to open, record, copy or delete with them, and you use them for your own purposes and at your own risk. Deleting a file deletes it on your device — there is no cloud copy for us to restore.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date above. If an app ever needed to collect anything — it will not — that would be said here first, in plain words, before the release.
